Plot
Thuval is a village where the people have fishing as their profession. A cracker maker plans to get all the fish using his crackers, as the fish are afraid of the cracker sound and come up to the surface. There is a forest officer who gets a lump sum as a bribe from the villagers. Once the river is flooded, none in the village is able to do their profession. What happens next? What did the forest officer and the cracker maker do? The rest of the film deals with the villagers and their stranded lives.
Star Performance
The stars did justice to the given roles. Elayaa and Rajavel fit well in the roles. Nivas, the kid, delivered a decent performance.
Analysis
The film has a good concept. The director tried to convey a good message to the people. Yet, the screenplay is slow and makes the audience feel a documentary effect. Though there is a social message, the audience expects a few known faces in the film. That’s one of the minus points. The music is decent, and the cinematography is okay. It is to be noted that the film received awards at the film festivals before its theatrical release.

If the screenplay had been at a brisk pace and the film also had some known actors, it would have impressed a huge audience. However, Thuval is watchable once for the efforts made!
