Plot
Thiruvalluvar lives in a country named Valluvanaadu. He starts penning the epic Thirukkural. While penning Thirukkural, he also teaches Tamil to the kids. Meanwhile, Valluvanadu and its neighbouring country, which was ruled by a king who betrayed and seized power, had to fight against each other. Who won the war? How did Thiruvalluvar complete Thirukkural? The rest of the story reveals all these.
Star Performance
Kalaichozhan and Dhanalakshmi are decent in their roles as Thiruvalluvar and Vasuki. OAK Sundar is quite good in his role as the Pandya King. Kottachi and Guna Babu have done what was required.
Analysis
The director should be appreciated for his effort to bring Thiruvalluvar’s life to the silver screen. Without any political impact, the dialogues are penned. However, they neither looked ancient nor the latest. The team should’ve made an additional effort for this. The movie showcases how Thirukkural depicts the life cycle of humans. The war scenes and the recognition of Thiruvalluvar at Madurai Tamil Sangam are shot well. Although the art director has done a decent job, some of the properties used didn’t give satisfaction, as they lacked the ancient feel. The artists’ selection should’ve been better. The music composition by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja adds value to the story. The visuals are decent to the budget.

Movies related to epics like Thirukkural are rare. At least for the director’s effort to bring it to the screen, the film is watchable once, despite the flaws.
