Chithra is a Malayalam movie actress who has been working in the Indian film industry since childhood. Born on 25th February 1965 in Kochi, Kerala, India, she was nicknamed Nallennai Chithra because of the recognition she received after she worked in an oil advertisement. She has worked in over 100 movies and is best known for her contribution to Malayalam cinema.

She started her career as a child artist with the film Aval Appadithan in 1978. The lead actors she worked with are legendary Rajnikanth and Kamal Hasan. In the year 1987, she worked in three films simultaneously, all by three different directors. The movies included Chinna Poove Mella Pesu, Manathil Uruthi Vendum, and Oorkavalan.
