Star Performance
Karthik has done justice to the given role. His Therukoothu performance is excellent. Karthik is good in the emotional scenes. Manisha shouldered the film with her natural performance. James Yuvan is good in his role. Marimuthu’s screen time is minimal, yet he did what was required. Usha Elizabeth, Shiva Shankar Master, Thavasi, and the rest of the actors have done a good job.
Analysis
The film is set in the 80s and the production design team should be appreciated for the background settings. The makeup department has done their job well, too. The lead actors fit well in the roles. The production values are okay for the budget. The music composition is decent, though there are a few minus points in the BGM. The visuals are okay. The lighting should have been better. The screenplay is slow and there are no exciting twists and turns. However, the emotions of Malar are shown well, and Manisha portrays the role well and gets appreciation. Though the film got released after a few years’ delay, it is sure to get a good name for the leads.

Verdict
The rural romantic entertainer may not impress many due to its slow-paced screenplay. However, it is a one-time watch. The film is a posthumous release for Shiva Shankar, Marimuthu and Thavasi!
