Malayalam Movie Review Uppumavu - Cast & Crew

One of the most prominent supporting actresses in Malayalam movies, Seema Nair is another of the most versatile actresses in the Malayalam movie industry with more than 50 movies under her belt. Born in the Mundakayam village in Kottayam, to parents M.G Gopinathan Pilla and Cherthala Sumathi, Seema has a sister, Renkua Girijan who is a playback singer, and a brother, A.G Anil, who is a music director.  She is formally trained in music, having obtained her degree from R.L.V College of Music and Fine Arts, Tripunithura.

Her career with the performing arts started with her performance as a theatre artist at the age of 17, appearing in the Cochin Sanghamithra’s drama Oru Kadamkadha in 1987. From there, she has performed in over 1000 dramas on stages globally, even winning the Kerala State Amateur Drama Awards in 1992.

Her career took a positive turn when she moved from the theatre to TV serials, and then on to movies.  Her first serial role was in the show Cherappayi Kadhakal, in the role of Kocheroda. She has also acted in telefilms and participated in reality shows including Nakshthradeepangal (Kairali TV) and as a judge for the popular reality show Rasikaraja No. 1 (Surya TV), apart from featuring on popular talk shows including Valentine’s Corner, Nammal Thammil, Valkannadi, the Sreekandan Nair Show etc.

She is also a member of the Kerala Division of the Make-A-Wish foundation and is a prominent member of the charity. She organized an event in 2012, where along with artists from Malayalam film and TV including Malini, Aju Varghese, Siddique, Kailash and the Social Welfare Minister M K Muneer. 57 children were helped through the event, where they were presented with gifts from the organizers. These children suffer from HIV, Cancer, Heamophilia and other incurable diseases, and are terminal. The work carried out by Seema Nair in providing hope and joy to these children is exceptional, with some of the most touching moments including when one of the children, Reshma R, a sixth-standard student was presented with a violin, and she burst into tears. Reshma later mentioned that she cherished a dream for a long time to touch a violin.

Siby Varghese is the original name of Kailash, who works predominantly in Malayalam films. The 2009 flick Neelathaamara is his debut venture. Hailing from Eraviperoor in Kerala, Kailash did his studies in Kozhencherry and also graduated. During those days, he dreamt of becoming an actor. Hence, he travelled to Ernakulam. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Applications.

During the initial stages of his profession, Kailash founded Expressions, an event management group. The year 2009 marked his entry into family life. He is blessed with a kid. Kailash kickstarted his profession as a junior actor and the 2009 flick Neelathaamara was a landmark in his career. Yusuf Ali Kechary’s 1979 flick was remade into Neelathaamara. The flick Best of Luck had Kailash sharing screen space with Mammootty.Kailash donned the character of Haridas in this flick. 

The 2008 flick Parthan Kanda Paralokam, which was directed by Anil, had the presence of Kailash. Some of his noticeable films include The Hunt, Banking Hours 10 to 4, Thank you and 10:30 am Local Call. Bhoomiyude Avakashikal is a film in which Kailash worked in the central role, and it was shown at several International Film Festivals. After a short gap, this flick gained him accolades.

Showcasing talents at a young age, Adhish Praveen is an Indian child actor who is astonishing the Malayalam Movie industry with acting skills. Born in Kerala, Adhish started his career young on the silver screen with Ben, a Malayalam movie of the year 2015. This movie focused on a boy named Ben and how his life moves around with a change in surroundings. Here, Adhish played the role of Chaami. This movie was hailed as one of the best Malayalam movies of all time. And because of his brilliant acting skills, Adhish quickly gained a favorable image in the Malayalam movie industry.

Kannan Sagar is an Indian actor who worked for the Malayalam film industry. He is a great and well-known actor in the south Indian film industry who continuously shared his work in Malayalam movies. Sagar worked in 7 films and TV series till now and some of them received a good response from the audience.

Shivaji Guruvayoor is a Malayalam Film Actor. He was born in the Thrissur District of Kerala. He has done more than eighty movies in his entire acting career. He first appeared on the big screen in the year 1990 in a Malayalam film Vachanam. He is known as Shivaji or Guruvayoor Shivaji in the Malayalam film industry.
