Star performance
The actors in the movie like Richard Thomas as Bob Hart and Nancy Mckeon as Emily have delivered uniform acting. In the veterinarian's role Nancy had performed well, her acting skills are appreciated. Relationship dynamic and chemistry between the characters Bob Hart and Madison, played by Hallee are way too good. Minor actors like Geoffrey Lewis as Hank and A. J. Trauth as Tim also delivered linear performances throughout the movie.
Analysis
The plot of the movie is quite interesting. Along with family drama, it also has some instances of thrillers. The relationship, understanding and complexities between father and daughter are depicted very well. The Sheriff's character is a loving fellow whereas his daughter's character is full of complexities. The cinematography is excellent for a low budget movie, the scenery and a good human connection was shown through the background. This movie is an example of clean family drama and its script is deep. Character of Madison undergoes the process of self-discovery and transforming as from a young girl she develops into a well-respected lady. The storyline is exciting and innovative, with various turns and twists.
The film is filled with emotional scenes. Some scenes, for instance when Bob discovers his dead wife's letters and his father's belongings are quite emotional. There are several such scenes that are pretty overwhelming. However, there was a lack of romantic scenes in the movie. Only some kissing scenes were shown. Also the acting of characters are sometimes inconsistent and vertical dialogues. The main lead, Richard Thomas and Hellee did admirable work but the supporting cast brought disappointment with their acting.

The movie is a must-watch film along with family. There are minimal romantic scenes and it is a moral based story. It gives out the message to protect wildlife and to have a deep emotional connection with nature.
