Ashok and Pinky are the US return couple. They get Balram Halwai as their driver. He is from a small town. Balram was a studious guy. But, he is unable to continue his studies due to poverty. Balram was not treated well in his work. Unexpectedly, Balram had to accept a crime, which he didn’t do. This incident makes a soft small-town boy to a rigorous one. The next big step he takes to win the society forms the rest of the story.
Gaurav’s performance is mind-blowing. Priyanka is good with her role. Rajkummar is okay, but not much impressive. Manjrekar has given a decent performance.
The film starts with interesting sequences, but later the screenplay gets slow. The film deals with some social issues. But, certain scenes seem to be over showcased and that could have been avoided. The climax should have been ended with some interesting scenes, which is a disappointing thing in the movie. The characters are designed neatly and the stars fit well too. The movie is sound in terms of production and technical values.
What’s Not There?
When we sideline those few negatives, the film is pretty good to watch. It showcases the reality and in some places, they had projected it deeply. Overall, The White Tiger is definitely a one-time watch!
