PLOT

Sara Mathews (Kelly), Los Angeles fresh starts her college as a fashion student. She last shared her room with her sister, whom she lost a year before. Knowing this attack Sara and Stephen rush to Irene’s place to save her. Rebecca is killed by a box cutter. Sara decides not to have a roommate for a while and puts the extra bed out of her room.

ANALYSIS

The movie has features of Twilight’s, which has the same director. We all have friends, but we hardly know well about each others. Here in this movie, Sara who is unaware of the mental illness of her roomie is terrified by her. Sara’s belief that Rebecca can be a good companion is although made true, it goes to an extreme level that her other friends are offended. The movie does not tell why Rebecca did not trouble Stephen? It carried a single idea of the manic behavior of the girl throughout the film. The starting of the film has fast moves from one thing to another.

PERFORMANCES

Minka, who is well known for her roles in the TV series, has given a solid performance in this movie with her unique style and gorgeous looks. Meester grabs the attention of the viewers with her role, being psychiatric at times, and sweet the next minute. Gigandet has played a supportive role with Kelly. The kills are not delivered perfectly. It has scary jumps that have been well edited.

WHAT’S THERE?

The movie has carried the values of human feelings. It has sex factors, physical violence, scary jumps, and the hardcore hurts. The acting and characters keep you alive in the show. It also contains an animal for the act. It features a good thing that the girls are not physically used when they are drunk.

WHAT’S NOT?

The movie lacks better dialogue delivery. The starting of the film which jumps too fast could have been made better.

VERDICT

The movie is good for open-minded viewers. Though it had controversies that the college would gain a negative remark, it is well shown with college students. You can choose The Roommate when you want to chill-out with friends.
