On August 8, Frank Whaley joined the movie's cast to portray the role of Herb, Jodi's father and a postal worker who consents to date Jodi once she takes control of her own life. Together, Victoria Justice and Avan Jogia appeared in the Nickelodeon films Spectacular! and Victorious.
Plot:
Firm friends Whitney and Mackenzie, the bullies in the school, had tormented Mindy and Jodi for years. They intended to get through their senior year without drawing attention. Still, after they were the target of an embarrassing prank, the two came up with a scheme to band together the school's outcasts and launch a social revolution. They team up with Virginia, an overachiever with information on everyone, Claire, a Girl Scout with a secret, and Dave, a kind slacker.
Star Performance:
Eden Sher has mastered the undeterred hyperactive perky thing. Just watching her do something for hours on end would be like watching joyful puppy movies. Victoria Justice has a personality that is expansive enough to match Eden's zeal and restrained enough to allow her character to develop into it. Ashley Rickard curiously displays her talent by playing a character who is only loosely openly gay and the stereotypical "straight man." Despite playing a modest role, Peyton List makes me happy by not portraying an idiot. The actors, along with everyone else in the supporting parts, does an outstanding job with their performances.
Analysis:
This is ultimately a fantastic illustration of what occurs when a skilled cast gets little to do, despite its attempt to appeal to geeks by CONSTANTLY pandering with sci-fi tropes. Not that there aren't humorous instances. They exist! Particularly from Eden Sher But the overall impression is one of emptiness. It's just another Animal Farm-inspired teen film that lacks creativity and a clear understanding of how the "losers" manage to seize control of the school. Even that viewpoint is undermined; I had at least hoped for a lighthearted, cathartic tale about striking back at the "mean girls." The producers ruin the fun by making us feel bad for the characters we'd instead love to despise.

Verdict:
This film is a somewhat mediocre example of an adolescent chick picture. This movie didn't have anything "amazing" about it. Even though the execution was subpar, the concept and plot were pretty engaging. However, this is an excellent movie if you don't mind being exposed to "high school drama."
