Plot: Dusty Crophopper, a crop duster plane is a successful racer. Due to overwork, his gearbox gets damaged. It cannot be repaired or replaced since that model is no longer available anywhere. To avoid it from getting more damage, his mechanic Dottie, fixes a warning light in Dusty’s control panel. It will warn him in case if he pressurizes his gearbox more. His inability forced him to stay away from racing, which was not possible for him. He tested and forced himself to go off his limits, which eventually made him crash-land at an airport, and caused a fire. Ryker, a government inspector, examined the incident, and declares that the airport has got an incapable fire fighting personnel. To overcome this, Dusty joins certificate course in Piston Peak National Park for firefighting. Based on his performance, the airport will be reopened. Dusty joins in a team under ‘Blade Ranger’, who was not impressed by this small plane at first. Few of his parts are changed and fixed by Maru, the team mechanic for fire fighting. Dusty also gets to know that Blade was a former actor who played as a police helicopter in a TV show. Meanwhile, Dottie informs him that he cannot find an alternative for Dusty’s gearbox. On hearing this, Dusty gets shattered. Whether he got back as a racer again? Did the airport get reopened? All these questions have got its answers in the climax.
Many gripping scenes and fields like teamwork, courage, sacrifice is described exquisitely. The animation part in each and every scene was flawless. Even the small details such as a flame, sunset, smoke where so quintessential. Visuals along with Todd Toon’s sound design and Mark Mancina’s supportive score was so realistic.
Altogether, it gives the audience a classic American feel while watching the movie. Many positive elements like not losing hope at odd times, getting motivated were brilliantly explained in the movie. Camera perspective makes the audience get more engaging to the movie.
Verdict: In short, ‘planes: fire& rescue’ is a better one compared to its prequel ‘ Planes Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ & ‘Cars’. But the movie does not make any memories that will be lingering in our mind forever.
