Dilemmas, assumptions, and wrong judgments separate a couple from reaching each other. Flipped is a story, based on Wendelin Van Draanen. This movie is directed and scripted by Rob Reiner.Â
PLOT:Â
Juli likes Bryce from their second grade. Bryce tries to avoid her for the next six years. Later, when Juli's favorite sycamore tree is cut down, she gets more depressed. She gradually loses interest on Bryce after getting to know his activities. Whereas Bryce starts developing a feeling for her. Though Juli got some mixed feelings, she started avoiding him. Later, during the basket boy lunch event, Bryce humiliates Juli by forcefully kissing her. After so much of apologies from him, Juli forgives him.Â
ANALYSIS:Â
This movie is a beautiful coming- of- age story where a young girl and a boy discover their love since their childhood. The word 'flipped' relates to the change in feelings of the protagonists. The director also flips the viewpoint by viewing from both boy’s as well as a girl's point of view. At first, the change in narrative viewpoint seems to be artificial. Later, the narrative proves to be effective.Â
STAR PERFORMANCES:Â
The director selectively chose a cast that is less- known, but talented.

gives a distinct and eloquent performance. This is the first feature film for her. Though Callan McAuliffe is an Australian, he perfectly handles his character's American accent. Mostly, the familiar faces do the supporting cast for the movie.Â
WHAT'S THERE?
This movie is safe for teens and does not contain any racy content that could harm them. The movie also gives few nostalgic scenes.
WHAT'S NOT THERE?
Rob Reiner's original touch is missing. Moreover, the movie contains too much of cliches and subplots that are too dramatic.Â
VERDICT
This could be a home movie as it is similar to the normal television series.
