Plot
End Of A Gun is about a federal agent who retired without the benefit of a pension. The story begins with the most important scene that leads to the rest of the significant events in the movie. This scene is where Michael, the protagonist, witnesses a heated argument between a man and a woman one night, and the man suddenly hits the woman. Michael approaches them both and steps in to save the woman. It turns out that the man is her boyfriend and his name is Ronnie. Michael warns Ronnie not to hurt the woman. He doesn’t trust Ronnie, so tells the woman to follow him. She follows, which angers Ronnie. He tries to attack Michael, who retaliates, and they get into a fierce fight that Michael ends with a shot to Ronnie’s head. After this incident the police get involved and investigate the case. Soon he meets the woman he saved, Lisa, in a Paris café and gets into a conversation with her. Where, they strike a deal where his part is to steal the money left in deceased Ronnie’s car, and in return, he gets a small share of it, along with sexual favors from her, while Lisa takes the rest of the money. Michael agrees to this and ultimately gets himself into a sticky situation that involves a mysterious drug lord whose money Michael has stolen. Therefore, the rest of the movie is basically about his mission to steal the money without getting caught, and all the hurdles he comes across during it.
Star Performance
Florin Piersic Jr.’s performance as Gage was excellent. The emotional conflict and occasional guilt that he felt in various scenes was visible yet his stance as a bad guy was consistent throughout the movie and was equally impressive.
Jade Ewen’s acting was flawless. Her innocent demeanor as a cover up to keep herself safe and that conceals her self-preserving or selfish nature that is devoid of any care for any of the men in the film, because of her past experiences was portrayed well.
Steven Seagal appears to have given a very underwhelming and low effort performance. Despite being the protagonist, his action scenes lacked any effort and during his dialogues he was mostly speaking under his breath, almost mumbling, barely audible.
Analysis
The visuals in End Of A Gun are clear and distinct despite being a low budget film. The vocals are also clear, the superb sound effects during the opening credits match the fancy fonts, the sound effects during the story are appropriate to the context of the different scenes and easy on the ears, dialogue is also intelligible. However, Michael’s dialogues did get a bit dull at times. On top of that, when Michael spoke he seemed to be mumbling in most scenes. Fight scenes weren’t as impressive as we’d like them to be. His performance in the action scenes lack luster and realism as he seems to put almost no effort into them. It would be understandable if he were an immortal character fighting men, but he isn’t is he? Even as a skilled and robust experienced man, he should at least show some signs that indicate that he’s putting in some effort into his fighting and there is a bit of struggle and it’s not as easy as he makes it look, besides, he is also ageing. It’s unreal. However, the only thrilling action scenes were witnessed at the movie’s end where he exchanges the money for the girl.

Verdict
It’s worth a watch, not too bad. Despite Michael’s seemingly unenthusiastic attitude during the fight scenes, the music, the other developed characters and the last action scene, make up for the lack of thrill in the film. However, the movie becomes shallow with the protagonist’s fixation on Lisa’s sexual side. Give it a watch if you wouldn’t get bored because of the over-sexualisation of the female character and Steven Seagal’s underperformance during the action scenes.
