Plot:
Dredd is a Sci-Fi movie that deals with an epidemic created by a drug that is called ‘Slo-Mo’ and it alters the reality by slowing down time. Mega City One is that city that is plagued by this epidemic. The judges, or so to say, the cops who are the ultimate reigning force in this town, strive to stop this spreading of the drug under the leadership of Dredd, who is the ultimate or alpha Judge.
The story has a lot of weight and intensity. There is a lot of unexpected that comes out in the movie, and the structure of the script is well paced. Pete Travis, the director of the film, seems like he truly believes in the script and has worked with all his wits to make this movie rather detailed in it color, scenes, and descriptions.
The violence in the movie is justified and pulsating, with as less number of clichés as possible. With all this said, the most attracting part of the movie, beyond the script and concept, is the element of 3D added to it.Â
It will be a sheer waste of the whole movie if it is watched in anything other than 3D. It is worth the visuals to go with a 3D version of the movie. The script seems basic but can’t be underestimated to be simplistic or usual.Â
One thing that is truly appreciated on the part of the Pete Travis, the director is the fact that he spends ample amount of time trying to explain concepts and form a basic understanding among the audiences without rendering them flustered and lost at any point in the movie.
Verdict:
This movie is an easily appreciated movies with good directions and acting with an above average concept. All those who enjoy Sci-Fi should give this movie a watch.
