The first-day collection of the film in the Hindi version is RS. 20 Cr and the Tamil dubbed version has collected Rs. 2.2Cr. It is reported that this is the first time, a Hindi dubbing film collected these many crores on its first day. Dhoni is celebrated as a Tamilnadu guy, as he played in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings, right from the team creation till its dismissal.
