Sinhala Actress Vidushi Uththara

Vidushi Uththara, born Dabara Liyanage Vidhushi Uththara, is a Sinhala television and theater actress. She also worked as a voice artist and model. She was born on 29th November 1991 in Rajagiriya, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Her father, Mr. Vipul Ariyathilaka, is a mechanic. Her mother, Miss. Kumari Deepika Dharmapala, is a housewife. Her elder sister, Dilini Rangana, is a journalist and editor. Her grandfather, Priscilla Opatha, was a very famous singer in the Gramophone era. She got married to Dr. Laknath Prasantha Rajasiri on 24th October 2013. She graduated from the National Gem and Jewellery Authority, Colombo, in 2012. Before starting an acting career, she pursued her jewelry designing career at Aminra Collection from 2012 to 2013.

From 2001 to 2005, she worked as a child announcer at Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation’s “Athuru Mithuru” children unit. Then, in 2005, she worked as a child artist in her first television show, Sathara Ima Gini. In 2016, she played a supportive role in a television serial, Deiyange Rate. She got fame for the role of Malki, played by her in the soap opera Deveni Inima, in 2017. She played the role of Udari in a television serial, Rajayogaya, telecasted in 2017, and for this role, she also got nominated for an award. In 2017, she also acted in the television series Ahimi. In 2019, she acted in three more serials: Sanda Vimana, Lansupathiniyo, and Kiss. From 2019 to 2020, she played the role of Rithu in the television serial Aeya. Apart from serials, she also appeared in many telefilms consisting of Dharu Senehasa, Moha, Sepalika, Guru Paduru, Magiya, Senehewanthaya, Piyawara, and Dinuma. She also appeared in many commercials such as Riztbury Chocolates, Laojee Tea and Dettol Soap Vim Dish-wash soap, Munchee Chocolate, Tiara Layer Cake, Commerical Bank, Astra Butter, Sera Coconut Milk, Clorgard Toothpaste, and Comfort Fabric Liquid. She also worked as a voice artist in many international soap operas and serials such as Mini Pahana Obai, Chooty Dhuu, Kiduru Kumariyo, Hamu Wemu aye Sansare, Vidya Pawula, Sakwala Kumariyo, Vishwa Charika, Nihada Dhoni, Panditha Rama, and Sihinayaka Seya.
