H A Perera is a well-known Sri Lankan actor who worked in the film, theatre, and television Industries. His full name is Habarakadage Alosius Perera. He was born on 10 May 1950 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. He completed his education at De La Salle College and Kotahena Central College. He has also learned music from Ranga Shilpa Shalika. He began his career in theater and performed his first play, Wedikkarayo. His first short play was Rajjiruwo Udai Udai. He has acted in several plays, such as Bosath Dekma, Raja Dekma, Spartacus, Wedikkarayo, and Julius Caesar.
In 1981, he debuted on the television Janelayan A Amutha. He has also appeared in the serials Ingammaruwa, Nedeyo, Yaśōrāvaya, Kaḍa Ima, Senehevanthayō, Sūriya Daruvō. He started in the film industry with the movie Sagara Jalaya Madi Haduwa Oba Hinda in the film industry in 1987. Siri Medura, Kali Madala, and Palama Yata are some of his famous films. He has also directed the music in Jana Karaliya.
He received various awards for his work as an actor and music director. In 1981, Perera received the Best Music Director Award for the play Numba Vitarak Thala Eḷaluyi from the Youth Drama Awards. In 1990, he won the Sarasaviya Best Actor Award in the movie Sagara Jalaya Madi Haduwa.In 1996, he received the Best Actor Award for the play Warenthuwa from the State Drama Award.
