Parag Patanwala is an Indian director and television & media broadcast professional. He completed his diploma in TV Production & Broadcasting at Conway School of Broadcasting in 2001. He is a television and media professional with over twenty years of experience in directing & creating television shows and various video formats. He specializes in directing live and on-ground events and studio-based multi-cam shows, live sports, award shows, game and dance shows, chat and travel shows, corporate events, concerts, documentary films, and on-location formats.
Parag Patanwala started his career as a video editor at Cinema Vision India & Various in Mumbai for two years (Aug 2001 – 2003). He was responsible for editing videos, documentary films, voice dubbing, and non-fiction television shows using Nonlinear editing software and assisting senior editors in big projects. His projects include Best of Surabhi – a travelogue series aired on Star Plus, Bhoomi – a non-fictional environmental series on DD Metro; My Banjara Diary – a documentary film on Banjaran tribes; Not Just a Point – a film on ancient medicine of South India, and The Kinnaurs – a film on community from Himachal Pradesh.
Parag Patanwala then worked as a studio director & show producer at CBN Multimedia Pvt. Ltd. for over seven months (May 2004 – Jun 2011). He was responsible for show formatting, producing regular episodes & content as per telecast deadlines, creative thinking, directing studio shoots, script writing, and others. He was a television studio director for “Khushi Ki Duniya," aired on Sony & SAB TV. He directed promos, segments for non-profit organizations, and music videos for regional shows. He was a supervising show producer for "Ek Nayee Zindagi," a Hindi daily show aired on Star Plus. He worked as a segment director & writer for "Solutions," an English weekly magazine show aired on ZEE Cafe.
Parag Patanwala has also worked as an associate creative director (Pre & Post production) at Colosseum Media Pvt Ltd/ Optimystix Entertainment for two years (Sep 2011 – Aug 2013). His primary responsibilities were creative thinking & brainstorming for television shows, creating show flow & episodic run orders, entire supervision of post-production, and others. He also worked closely with creative directors in formatting the show. He was an associate creative director for Ford Ecosport Urban, a non-fiction reality travelogue series in 2013.
As an associate creative director & reality head, he worked on the dance and game show "Aapka Sapna Humaara Apna," which aired on Zee TV. He also worked in the show "Mallika E Kitchen" in the seasons 3 & 4. He was a creative senior producer for Master Chef India Season 3 show, which aired on Star Plus. Parag Patanwala has been working as a television director since Jan 2011.
