Navjeet Kaur is a renowned costume designer, working primarily in the Hindi Film and TV Industry, Bollywood. She was born in a small town, Moga, Chandigarh. Navjeet had a tough childhood, studying under a tree, sitting on rags brought from home. Navjeet attributes her education to her father. He made sure to uplift his children and teach them about the world that thrived outside Moga. Her brother is a senior software engineer in Chandigarh. Her father always taught them to dream big and never to limit themselves. Navjeet completed her Master’s degree at Punjab University in English. She later pursued a year-long course in fashion design from the Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD), Chandigarh.

Navjeet is a book designer. She paints, clicks photographs, and designs clothes as well. Navjeet debuted in 2014 while still in college. She had posted some photos on social media, and the director, Gurvinder Singh Gurvinder Singh was born in Delhi in a Sikh family >> Read More... , had approached her to work for him on the movie Chauthi Koot. It was tough for Navjeet in the early years of her career since everyone would give her their opinions and try to impose them on her. Working with Gurvinder Singh taught her to pay attention to herself and her ideas. Gurvinder Singh does not believe in always casting professional actors. He was so impressed with Navjeet Kaur that he would always ask her to appear on a screen as an actor whenever he thought of a role that would suit her.

Navjeet expresses her strong opinions about societal conceptions of pretty. According to her, a costume designer’s work is to help depict the character’s locations and periods through their clothing. Navjeet designed costumes for ‘Qissa Punjab’ in 2015. The movie premiered at International Film Festival for South Asia, Toronto.
