Sreela Tripathy

Sreela Tripathy is an Indian actress and dancer known for her work in the Odia and Bengali entertainment industry. She started as a dancer with professional degrees in Bharatanatyam and Kathak and performed in theatre. When she was 20, Tripathy acted in her first Odia film, Gangasiuli (1998), starring alongside Muna Khan. The director of the film was Srinivash Tripathy. The two fell in love on set and married soon after. After marriage, Tripathy took a break from her career to focus on her family. She returned to the screen in Odia film Prema AdheiAkyara (2010), directed by Sudhakar Basanta.

She debuted on the Odia small screen with the serial Manara Manisha, aired by DD-1. In 2020, she acted in director Satyajit Das’ directorial debut, Paintings in the Dark (2020), a Bengali film which won awards at the Virgin Spring Cinefest for best editing and VFX in 2019. She also acted in Anupam Patnaik’s Odia film, Pratikshya (2022), which screened at the International Film Festival of India and won the Best Story Feature Film award at the Washington DC South Asia Film Festival. She is married to director Srinivash Tripathy and has a son.
