Odia Singer Bishnu Mohan Kabi

Bishnu Mohan Kabi was born in the hamlet of Jirital, Balasore, Odisha, on January 5, 1987. He spent the first twelve years of his life in the town where he was born. After that, he moved to Gopaljiu Matha, Padampure, Balasore, where his father was a Gaudiya Baishnava. Bishnu has highly supportive parents who have encouraged him to participate in many cultural activities. His first Guru was his mother, who is also a singer. He began learning odiya bhajans from his mother when he was six years old. Mr Avijit Pal and Shri Gauranga Chandra Pradhan began his official training in odissi and classical music when he was seven years old. He attended Sahupada High School before enrolling at Guru H.K Behera College of Art and Culture in Balasore, which is part of the University of Art and Culture in Odisha. By his brother's encouragement, he enrolled in a music school called "Bharatiya Nrutya Sangeetakala Parisad" and finished a full course in Odissi Vocal.

Guru Ramahari Das, Shri Dhiraj Mohapatra, Manjurani Mohapatra, and Purusottam Parida gave him his M.Mus (PG) in odissi voice. In 2009, he won the Tarang Channel's musical reality show "Voice Of Odisha." He's collaborated with a variety of music directors on songs from a variety of films and video albums. In 2014, he received the Swara Samrangi Award and the Best Playback Singer Award for the Odia films "Bachelore" and "Rumku Jhumana."
