Ashok Mahapatra is a producer in the Odisha film industry. He was born and brought up in Bhubaneshwar. His father, Umakanta Mahapatra, is a writer. Ashok’s uncle Ramakanth Rath is a poet who won the Gnanapeeth Award. He did his schooling at Stewart School Bhubaneswar. In 1995, he worked as a Deputy Nautical Adviser at the Directorate General Of Shipping. He worked at the International Maritime Organization as Head of the Maritime Training and Human Element, Senior Deputy Director, and Director of the Maritime Safety Division. Since 2018, he worked as the Chief Executive Officer at UA Consulting Pvt. Ltd.
