Sanjay Nayak is one of the most renowned filmmakers of the Odia film industry. He was born on 2nd March 1975 in Kakatpur, Odisha. He attended the Barunei High School in Kakatpur and graduated from the Birla Institute of Technology in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Looking at Sanjay’s achievements, it would be fair to say that he is a gifted person who has achieved a lot in the industry and that too at a very young age. He is a remarkable writer, editor, director, and producer in the industry. Sanjay is well-known for thinking outside the box and inculcating unique ideas in his films. He was the producer and director of the first science fiction film of Odisha Keun Duniaru Asila Bandhu, in 2009. It was the first time that an alien had been introduced in Oriya films.
The list of films that have been directed and produced by Sanjay runs long. He first ventured into the industry in 1994 when directing the film Sakhi Rahila Ae Singha Duara. In 1995, he wrote and directed Rakata Kahiba Kie Kahara. Owing to the remarkable contributions that Sanjay has made to the film industry, he has been bestowed with several awards in the past years. He received the award for best director, best scriptwriter, and best story writer on numerous occasions. Sanjay holds over 100 more awards for his priceless contributions in the industry. Most noteworthy is the Odisha Film State Award which he received for his direction of the 2009 film Pagala Karichi Paunji Tora.
Sanjay was nominated for the Limca Book of World Records for censoring the films Dil Tate Deichi and Sasura Ghara Zindabad by the same director, producer, actor, and cameraman on the same day. He released three films in 2003, 2005, and 2008 each, a record in the Indian cinema. Sanjay also owns a production house, Sanjay Nayak Films, that has produced several noteworthy films in the industry. He is also the president of Utkal Cine Chambers of Commerce. Some other films directed by Sanjay in the industry include- Megha Sabari Re Asiba Pheri (2010), Mita Basichi Mu Bhuta Sathire (2013), Premare Rakhichi 100 Ru 100 (2019), Luchei De Mote Chati Bhitare (2021), and Wahan Ru Odisha. He also wrote the story for Prema Rutu Aslilare (2006), De Maa Shakti De (2006), To Bina Mo Kahani Addha (2007), Chatire Lekhichi Tori Naa (2011), To Bata Chachinchi Rati Sara (2014), and Luchei De Moti Chate Bhitare (2021).
