Ashok Das is a director and producer born in Odisha. He graduated in Economics from Utkal University. He started as a Senior Journalist at The Samaja, where he used to report and edit assignments for TV programs in Doordarshan. Ashok became the founder and director of Sankalp TV. He produced around 3200 TV, radio, and documentaries for the government of India and Odisha, NFDC, UNDP, FIMI, and Tata Steel, produced audiovisual programs for different channels, corporate films, and educational and training modules for students, farmers, and rural women in Odisha. He got the Best Director award for the film Healu, a story based on the lifestyle and culture followed by the tribal community during the Global Film Festival in Noida.
