Atal Bihari Panda was a lyricist, actor, and playwright of Indian origin. He was known for his contribution to Sambalpuri Literature and cinema. He was born in Binika in the Sambarnapur district in Odisha. He was a thespian and had performed in almost a hundred plays. He also wrote several plays in the Sambalpuri language. In 2013, when he was 83 years old, he made his debut in the film industry with the movie Sala Budha for which he also wrote the dialogues. He later worked in the second and third installments of the movie. He is the recipient of the Odisha State Film Awards for Best Actor and Best Dialogue writer. Atal passed away on June 5, 2021.
