Chandra Prasad Dhakal is a famous businessman and entrepreneur in Nepal. He is widely known as the President of the prestigious Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI). Chandra Prasad Dhakal was born to a middle-class family in Baglung district, Nepal, and began growing in the business and finance industry for many years. He became a member of the FNCCI executive committee and one of the coordinators at FNCCI’s Investment Development Forum.

Apart from associating with FNCCI, he is also the honorary consul for Indonesia and one of the members of the Nepal Investment Board developed by the Nepal Government. Chandra Prasad Dhakal, along with his brother, Hem Raj Dhakal, founded the IME conglomerate of businesses and ventured into different business arenas. When he was the chairman of the Global IME Bank, he helped in the three-way merger, which immensely helped the IME Bank and Nepal’s economy.

For his contribution to Nepal’s commerce industry, he got the prestigious Prabal Janasewashree (Fourth) Award and also the Gorkha Dakshin Bahu IV Award. For helping in the evacuation of Indonesian citizens in the 2015 earthquake in Nepal, Chandra Prasad Dhakal was awarded by the Indonesian Government and Nepal’s Foreign Ministry.
