Hari Bansha Acharya

Hari Bansha Acharya is a famous comedian, actor, singer, theater artist, director, and public activist in the Nepali film industry.  He is widely known for his method of acting and is a part of the comedy duo-MaHa Jodi, along with another comedian, Madan Krishna Shrestha Madan Krishna Shrestha, also known as Madan Bahadu >> Read More... .  He was born on November 13, 1957, in Gairidhara, Kathmandu, to his parents, Homanjaya Acharya and Ganesh Kumari.  He started his film career with Hari Prasad Rimal in Radio Nepal and worked with Madan Shrestha to form the hit comedy duo. 

Over the years, he has worked in multiple films like Basudev (1984), Silu (1987), Rajamati (1995), Tan Ta Sarai Bigris Ni Badri (2000), Je Bho Ramrai Bho (2003), Shatru Gate (2018), Mahapurush (2022), and many more.  Apart from working in films, he has worked in multiple comedy television programs like Laxmi, Fifty-Fifty, Santati, Laal Purja, Chiranjivi, Ohho!, Pani, Left Right Left, and many more.  He was also associated with various radio PSAs and collaborated with the Nepal government to create social awareness. 

He is a talented writer and has written multiple books based on society, which have won many awards. Over the years, Hari Bansha Acharya has held honorable positions like Ambassador of Nepal’s UN World Food Program and the Chairman of the Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre. He was also the Executive Director of Maha Sanchar. He has also won many prestigious awards like the NEFTA Awards, OFA Awards, and Jagadamba Shree Puraskar for his contribution to the film industry. On the personal front, Hari Bansha Acharya married Ramila Pathak in 2012, after the demise of his first wife, and has two children-Trilok Acharya and Mohit Acharya.
