Ahsan Bakhsh is a Bollywood filmmaker and writer. Aakhiri Munadi, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya and Billu are his films. Ahsan Bakhsh was born in Pithoragarh, near the Himalayan foothills. He holds a bachelor's degree in drama from the National School of Drama in New Delhi and a doctorate in history from Kumaun University in Nainital. From 1998 until 2002, he worked as an actor with the National Theatre Repertory Company. He led several theatre workshops across the country. He has collaborated with several national and international theatre and film figures. In 1999, he was awarded a junior research scholarship by the Indian government to study Himalayan traditional art.
For Sangeet Natak Academy, he organized the National Puppet Festival in Mumbai. He has produced a documentary video about the state of Uttrakhand's water supply and folk art. He has experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs). He has appeared in several mainstream Bollywood films, including Paap, The Rising, and others. His first short film, Aakhiri Munadi, was selected to get premiered in River to River Florence Indian Film Festival 08, Sign 2009 – International Film Festival of Kerala, India, Short Film Center – International Film Festival of India-09, and Mumbai International Film Festival10.
