Amna Ilyas

Amna Ilyas was born on October 1991 in Karachi, Pakistan. Unlike many women belonging to her nationality, Amna pursues a career in modelling and acting, which is very different from the societal norms subjected on women folks. Despite the massive pressure that she faced to commit herself to a low-profile life, Amna gained a lot of recognition from around the world and was subjected to a lot of controversies in her own country after she won multiple ‘Lux Style Awards’ for modelling.

Amna started her career in acting in the year 2013 by acting in a film titled- ‘Zinda Bhaag’ in which she bagged the ‘ARY Award for best actress’ for her performance as the lead character in the movie, opposite to none other than the famous Naseeruddin Shah Naseeruddin Shah is an experimental actor and asso >> Read More... . ‘Zinda Bhaag’ is a story of a couple of Pakistani youth, who struggle to escape the harsh reality to which they are confined. The film was screened in the foreign film category in various International Film Festivals, and it was also a massive success in Pakistan, both critically and also commercially. Amna later makes an appearance in a 2015 movie- ‘Good Morning Karachi’, which was also a huge success.

She proves how bold she really is by appearing in a sensual song in the film ‘Dekh Magar Pyar Se’, Her performance not only gave life to the sequence, but it also proved to a chauvinistic society that it is not always possible to chain one’s freedom. Amna has signed a lot of contracts since 2015, and few movies are in production while certain others are waiting to be released in theaters. Her most awaited work is ’Driven’, which is an action-packed crime thriller-another bold move on her behalf.

Apart from films, Amna has also appeared in four Television series since 2014, which harnessed a lot of viewers.
