Its story revolves around Hakeem Sahab and his family. He is in debt and highly possessive about his dearest daughter, Mehru. He is looking for a wealthy groom for his lovely daughter, who can help him pay his debts. Hence, he often breaks Mehru’s engagements and even one wedding. He returned a wedding procession because the groom’s family did not bring a fancy car and lots of jewelry for his daughter. In his selfishness, he fails to realize how traumatic it is for Mehru whenever he breaks an engagement.

Mehru’s older sister is married to Khala’s son. She is a typical mother-in-law who often torments her daughter-in-law for giving birth to four daughters. On the other hand, Asad, her youngest son, was madly in love with Mehru since childhood. Hakeem Sahab also rejected him because he has a dark complexion, is unemployed, and has a mean mother. However, Mehru also realizes her love for Asad but holds her back due to her father’s love, as he had always loved her dearly. Later, Asad decides to fulfill Hakeem Sahab’s requirements for Mehru’s groom. Hakeem Sahab’s youngest daughter Masooma also fell in love with one of her abroad-returned cousins, which is also forbidden.
