The show premiered on 8 April 2017 and ran till 29 October 2017. The story’s backdrop features a family run by a matriarch, Kaneez Begum. She is a spirited woman, even though she has seen the death of many kinfolk.

Maheen is the maternal granddaughter of Kaneez. She is egotistical and short-tempered. Kaneez’s grandson Waqar returns from London, and takes an interest in Kaneez. Both of them are in the process of falling in love with each other, which makes Kaneez unhappy as she wants Maheen to marry Gulraiz. Gulraiz is nothing like a good-natured and confident man. He is shy and introverted and even though he loves Maheen, he doesn’t say so.

Fajar, Maheen’s sister, suggests they openly reveal their romantic relationship to everyone. Finally, they are about to get married. But on their wedding day, Waqar reads Maheen’s diary, and filled with rage, he leaves. To save the family’s reputation, Maheen and Gulraiz get married. Years later, Waqar comes back from London and, a huge revelation takes place. Turns out, Maheen’s evil friend had deliberately made changes to Maheen’s diary, making Waqar believe that she did not love him.

By this time, Gulraiz had died due to cancer. So the lovers finally reunite but fate has one more dark turn for them. On their wedding night, Maheen consumes poison as she gets flashbacks of her wedding night with Gulraiz. Maheen's life went to pieces just because of a love she could not earn,, and the moment she achieved it, she was already broken enough not to continue it. The most beautiful thing about the show is that it exposes the extreme intensity of depression, and death. With Maheen gone to heaven, Waqar and her love story still gets unfinished.
