Jhoot is a Pakistani romantic emotional TV serial that aired on HUM TV in 2016. This is a story about an over-possessive mother who interferes in the life of her children to the point that it snatches away their happiness. Saleha’s lies depict her entire identity and influence her life decisions. Saleha has two children Waqar and Zara. She lives alone with her son and daughter while her husband lives abroad. Soon she finds out that her son, Waqar likes a girl named Sadaf. Her extra careful nature comes into force and she plots to separate them. She emotionally blackmails her son into breaking his relationship with Sadaf and getting married to Saleha’s niece Farah.

Owing to her selfish nature she later breaks Farah and Waqar’s engagement and agrees to get Sadaf and Waqar married but on a condition. She asks Sadaf’s elder brother to get married to Zara which shocks everyone including the two said, people. They refuse to marry which breaks Waqar and Sadaf’s relationship for forever. Saleha’s poor life decisions refrained her children from getting married even after years. Later on, in life it is seen that Zara gets married to Jamal.
