Thekkathi Ponnu is a Tamil soap opera aired on Kalaignar tv. It’s a serial directed by renowned director P. Bharathiraja, and P. Jayaraj was the producer. The story revolves around three villages and shows the generation-long conflict between the families of Chandrashekhar and Napolean. The serial possesses a story between three generations and three families.
The show started airing on 14 April 2008. It aired from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm IST. The show ended with 750 episodes on the 20th of September, 2011. The show also features women's equality and how the women of the villages were treated equally and had equal rights. The main characters were Napolean, Chandrashekhar, Bhuvaneshwari, Swarnamalya, Pragathi.
