Sundari fights against the discrimination that she faces due to her color. She is a kind-hearted woman who wants someone to love her for her inner beauty rather than her looks. Sundari aspires to become an IAS officer. She works very hard and faces many ups and downs throughout the journey. The storyline introduces Anupriya, also known as Anu. She is a modern woman who lives in an urban area. She is a beautiful, fair-skinned girl. The story then introduces Karthik. The family of Karthik has already announced his marriage to Sundari. But Karthik fantasies a wife like Anu. He falls in love with the beauty and the skin tone of Anu. Sundari, Anu, and Karthik get intertwined. Eventually, Anu and Karthik marry each other. Even after marriage, Karthik uses her for his desires. He lusts for her beauty but does not care about her genuinely. Anu gets constantly manipulated and gets sidelined often. Sundari works on herself and becomes a confident woman.

Finally, Anu decides to leave Karthik after having enough turbulence in her life. She asks Sundari to take responsibility for her son Thamizh. Sundari accepts the responsibility and respects the decision of Anu. After the departure of Anu, Karthik gets depressed. He could not handle the separation from Anu and eventually killed himself. After his suicide, Sundari takes responsibility for Thamizh and his grandmother Gandhimathi. All three of them leave for abroad. The serial is about women's empowerment and inner beauty. It sends a message to the viewers to validate the inner personality of a person rather than loving someone for their looks. It also sheds light on the condition of women like Anu, who get manipulated without realizing it. The serial is a perfect blend of social messages in a captivating storyline.
