Sundaram Balachander, known as S. Balachander, was an Indian musician, director, screenwriter, and composer. He was born on January 18, 1927, in Madras, British India. He started as a child artist in the Tamil cinema with Seetha Kalyanam in 1934, which he portrayed as a child musician in Ravana’s court. He also appeared in Rishyasringar and Araichimani. Later in 1948, he directed a film EnKanavar in which he starred in the lead role. The movie revolved around the male lead, his experiences as a son, a husband, and his desires as a human being.
