“Athirshta Katru” is a serial based on a novel of the same name. It revolves around and tells the story of a man named Ravi and how his faith in the Lord brought changes in his life that left him in a whirlwind. The story begins with Ravi getting engaged to his uncle’s daughter named Akila. Akila was born and brought up in an affluent and wealthy household and is used to getting everything she wants. After the engagement, Ravi decides to visit the temple of Ponniamman on his way to the beach. However, he gets involved in an accident which leads to him getting injured and finding himself in a critical state. When the doctor finalizes that Ravi would have to spend a lot of time in bed or risk losing both of his legs, Akila cancels the engagement, and her father manages to search for a different groom when he hears of the condition. This breaks Ravi’s heart, and all he can feel is despair. Things take a turn for the worse in his life after the accident, and gradually he starts to blame himself for the accident and his cruel fate, finding himself on the edge of hatred and a dark pit. However, when he finally recovers and gets a hold of his life, he decides to revisit the same temple with his grandfather after six cold months. He asks for blessings to get a better start on his way back.
