Panduwasudeva’s sole aim was to fulfill the wish of Lord Budhha which was stated thousands of years ago and bring peace, prosperity, and unity to the nation of Sri Lanka. To serve this purpose, Prince Panduwasudeva began his journey to the land along with thirty-two other noble youths who decided to accompany him. However, unbeknownst to him, Princess Buddhakachchana who was the daughter of King Panda from the Panda dynasty also had arrived at the land along with her thirty-two female attendants. When Panduwasudeva saw her, he was enchanted by her beauty and skills and decided to pursue her romantically.

When the Princess reciprocated the feelings they chose to get married and the couple was given the title of the King and Queen of Lanka. King Panduwasudeva as an act of goodwill stated that the thirty-two people who accompanied him on the journey and helped him to take over the kingdom were to marry the thirty-two females who accompanied the Queen. The monarch eventually had ten sons and one daughter. The eldest son was named and renowned as Abhaya and the daughter was named Ummadha Citta. King Panduwasudeva ruled over the kingdom overcoming many challenges. He brought peace and prosperity to the kingdom and reinstated several laws that promoted the overall growth of the nation with him ruling as the just and kind ruler.
