Conganige Madhavee Wathsala Anthony, popularly known as Madhavee Anthony. She was born on 6 August 1988 in Kadawatha, Sri Lanka. Her father is one of the most renowned Actors but also excelled as a director, singer, producer, novelist, screenwriter, TV host, lyricist, and whatnot. He prevailed in every field and won tons of reputable awards like “Best Actor” for a record of sixteen times, “Best Script Award”, “Most Promoting Director Award” and many more. Whereas, her mother is also a beloved singer and actress in Sri Lankan cinema.

She is also supported by her two younger brothers. Sajitha Anthony; is a sensational actor and singer who started to develop his career at a very early age as a child artist, and Akila Dhanuddara; is a renowned actor in cinema and TV shows, who has been a part of many blockbuster hits. Madhavee Wathsala completed her high school education at Visakha Vidyalaya, then pursued a Bachelor of Arts BA(Hons) in Archaeology at the University of Kelaniya. Later, she completed her master’s in Tourism Economics and Hotel Management at the University of Colombo. She worked as a Former Graduate Trainee Research Officer at the Central Cultural Fund. Then, Former research intern at SAARC Cultural Centre and later worked as a Former Presenter at HIRU TV, and is currently working as a Co-founder/ producer at Namonama.

She began her career at the early age of 6 years and entered the singing industry as a child vocalist at Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation under the guidance of her mother. She managed her academic pursuits while actively participating in various children’s programs of SLBC, and she also worked as a child radio presenter on Savana FM. Then finally she made her first televised appearance in the TV serial directed by her father, named “Esala Kaluwara”. She worked in various television serials and films as a child artist and a child cast. In 2016, she made her comeback by acting in a blockbuster hit film “Address Na”. Many of her works have been awarded and gained critical acclaim. Some of her most widespread works are “Api Thamai Apiwa Danne” (2022), “Ithin Api Banda” (2024), “Raththarane” (2016), “Premeta Seemawak Nane” (2023). Apart from acting, she primarily worked as a singer and released many smash hit songs one by one like, “Oba Epa” which was a hit song in 2018. She was nominated for “Best Female Actress” and “Best Supporting Actress” awards at Raigam Tele’s for her incredible performance in the serial “See Raja” in 2018. Again, she was nominated for the “Best Teledrama Actress” 2021 at the Sumathi Awards.
