The serial plot revolves around the life of Vihara, a young lady. She is a teacher from Colombo. She then gets transferred to a rural village to teach the poor kids. She is engaged to Roshan, a wealthy businessman. She has known doctors as parents. They are employed at the hospital owned by Roshan's father. Vihara does not like Roshan. So, she is not interested in marrying him. But her parents repeatedly insist on marrying him. But she resists. She had to get away from this. So she uses the opportunity to go to the village to escape from this. So she tells them that she had enough and will take this opportunity to leave home and go to the town. Her parents resisted at first but later let her go.

She drove to the village with her mother and almost hit a group of cows on the road. A man named Randika was guiding the cows on his motorbike. They arrived at the boarding house of Emelyne Hamine, the female head of the village and the owner of the only wealthy family in the town. Jayamini, her middle daughter, had to leave her sons with her mother and younger sister. The new teacher, Vihara, and another teacher, Aloka, began teaching at the school and bonded with the students and staff, including the talented dancer Anagi. However, they learned that the MP wanted to close the school and move the students.

Vihara, Aloka, and a male teacher named Ranthilaka Sir allied and sought help from the local education director. Meanwhile, Vihara got to know Randika better and learned about his kind heart and friend, Chula. The story follows her efforts to save the school with the help of Randika and her struggles with her parents, who force her to marry Roshan. Randika falls in love with Vihara but hesitates due to his past relationship. Vihara also cares for Jayamini's sons, who were mistreated by their grandmother and aunt.

The lead roles in the production are played by Damithrie Subasinghe as Vihara and Danushka Sampath as Randika.
