Zee Marathi, with its 18th anniversary, presented the viewer’s choice Awards, the Zee Marathi awards in 2017. Zee Marathi has always served the audience with full entertainment with its relatable and quality content. It has been the epitome of Marathi culture, traditions, and relationships, celebrated by both actors and viewers. Hence, to celebrate eighteen years in the industry, ‘ Utsav Natyancha Navtarunyacha’ was the theme for the award ceremony, which means, to celebrate the spirit of being young.

The award ceremonies are intended to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of actors, producers, writers, and directors. To gain results for each category, the audience voted their favorites via technological mediums like, missed call voting, Facebook polls, and website voting. The votes made a significant impact as they resulted in many winners in various categories. The other categories, such as, best hostile actor/actress, best character male/female, best supporting role male/female, and so on, also had victorious winners because of viewers voting. The award ceremony was aired on 15th October 2017 with 2 hours and 26 minutes duration. It was the highest-ranking event of the calendar year 2017 as it ordered 3051 TVTs and was viewed by 7.34 million audiences. The collaborative efforts to make an award ceremony successful are not only by performers and actors but also by the lightmen, backstage managers, spot boys, and background dancers, which makes the show worth watching.
