Supriya Pathak’s mom is the famous actress Dina Pathak . Her father, Baldev Pathak, had a tailoring shop named ‘Shriman’ near Gateway of India. Sandip Ray is the only son of Satyajit Ray and Bijoya Ray, born on September 8, 1953. He is an Indian director and a music director, mainly working for the Bengali film industry. He was born in Kolkata and studied at South Point School and then from Patha Bhavan, Kolkata. Only at the age of 24, he started his journey as an assistant director on the sets of his father. He made his first directorial debut, Phatik Chand, in 1983, which received International Children’s Film Festival in Vancouver. Not only a director, but Sandip was also a noted photographer. Biographies reveal bare details about the maverick filmmaker Satyajit Ray. Even today not much is known about this extraordinary filmmaker. But people still have a passion for doing research upon his classic films as he is an extraordinary filmmaker. Satyajit Ray was India’s first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Academy Award (Honorary Oscar) in 1992. He is also a recipient of the honorary doctorate by Oxford University ( after actor Chaplin). The government of India has awarded him ‘Padma Bhushan(1965) and  Dadasaheb Phalke Award(1985) and the highest civilian honour’Bharat Ratna’(1992) too. Dr. Shriram Lagoo is an Indian actor who is known for being a character-specific or a method-actor. Lagoo originally from Satara completed his formal education at Fergusson College and graduated from the B.J.Medical College. He discovered his passion for drama and the theater during his college days, and joined Bhalba Kelkar’s “Progressive Dramatic Association.” Kelkar, a senior student at the same college Lagoo, attended, shared his like-mindedness, and penchant for acting. Later on, Lagoo pursued further specialization in his education field by taking up a course in ENT in Mumbai. He practiced medicine in Pune, Mumbai, and also continued training in various courses abroad. Mohan Agashe is a theater based actor who predominantly takes an interest in stage and plays. He was introduced to films by Shyam Benegal, who made the only art-house film. 9. Shashi Kapoor

Shashi Kapoor, a name that needs no introduction, is the son of Prithviraj Kapoor and brother of Raj and Shammi Kapoor, who are considered the legends in the Hindi film industry. Shashi Kapoor was born on 18th March 1938 in Calcutta. He is a producer, actor and a director who initially worked as the assistant director for the movies like ‘post box 999, guest house and Shriman Satyawadi’.  His presence was although noticed in the movie ‘Dharamputra’ (1961) in which he played the lead role for the first time; Shashi Kapoor had entered the industry long before that when he acted as the child artist during 1940’s. He did 116 films in his entire career with almost every big actress of that time, from dream girl Hema Malini to the talented Parveen Babi. He did few English films under Merchant ivory American productions. This Kapoor attended Don Bosco high school, Mumbai. Before entering the film industry he worked in the theatre for a long time. He was the assistant stage manager in theatre where he met English actress Jennifer Kendal who was also working as a theatre artist during that time. Both eventually fell for each other and tied knot in the year 1958. They have three children. In 1978 he set up his production house which produced movies like ‘Kalyug, Junoon, and Vijeta’. He is known to be a very choosy actor who accepted much selected roles. Lately he was seen in the movie ‘Jinnah’ (1998) based on the biography of Mohd. Ali Jinnah.  The actor got 55th Filmfare life time award. He was felicitated with some of the greatest awards like Padma Bhushan in 2011 and Dadasaheb award (2015), which is the highest award in Indian cinema.

10. Om Puri

Om Rajesh Puri is one of the widely noted senior actors in the Indian film industry and he was born on 18th October 1950 in Patiala, Punjab. He is one of the few Bollywood actors to act in mainstream commercial English movies. The alumnus of National School of Drama was also a classmate of renowned actor Naseeruddin Shah of the 1973 class.

He started his movie career in 1976 with the Marathi film ‘Ghashiram Kotwal’ directed by K.Hariharan. The movie was based on a play with the same name and it got success both commercially and critically. His career graph saw the coming of critically acclaimed art films such as ‘Bhavni Bhavai’, ‘Sadgati’, ‘Ardh Satya’ etc. and he was one of the major stars to do art films at that time along with well-known actors like Naseeruddin Shah, and Shabana Azmi. His reputation sky rocketed with his unconventional roles in many films during the 80s such as ‘Aakrosh’ and ‘Disco dancer’. Puri became famous for his versatility and personality, and went on to act in films in many domestic and foreign industries. He was honoured by the government of India with Padma Shri award and he also received ‘Order of The British Empire’. 13. Annu Kapoor

Annu Kapoor or born as AnilKapoor, is an Indian movie actor, TV and radio presenter who were born on February 20, 1956 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. He has an almost similar name with the actor, Anil Kapoor, so in 1982 he decided to change his name to Annu Kapoor. He was trained in the National School of Drama in New Delhi, India in 1976.

In 1979, he first appeared as a stage actor and he was noted for his appearance in Ek Ruka Hua Faisla under the direction of his brother, Ranjeet, in 1982. Shyam Benegal, an Indian director who made Annu’s debut film, Mandi in 1983.

Annu was also part of the serial, DD National (DD1) in 2007 and performed in the black comedy film, 7 Khoon Maaf as Inspector Keemat Lal. The Golden Era – With Annu Kapoor is the melancholy show about the Indian cinema, specifically Bollywood Music. He was the radio presenter in the 92.7 Big FM station with his show called, Suhaana Safar with Annu Kapoor.

His career traversed for over 30 years. He has done TV serials, game shows and performed in Bollywood cinema. He also hosted the STAR One’s singing contest, Antakshari – The Great Challenge. Annu played an Obsessive-Compulsive physician in the Bollywood comedy-drama, Vicky Donor, in 2012, which became a renowned critically acclaimed film and gave him the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 2013, he appeared as Sir Yograj Khanna in the Bollywood action comedy film, Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, under the direction of Sangeeth Sivan.

Annu came from a family connected with art and nationalism. He was the son of the poet, Shabnam Kapoor, who was one of the very few people that mastered Urdu, Arabic, and Persian languages. She was also articulate in languages like Punjabi, Gujarati, Marwadi, Marathi, and some other dialects. Annu has four sons and has been married twice.

He also directed various plays and films such as the Abhay (The Fearless) that received the National Film Award for Best Children’s Film and V. Shantaram Award in 1994. He was also the Aao Jhoomein Gaayen on SAB TV, a musical talent competition for kids and the Gaan Gaao Taaka Naao on Kolkata.

Annu have done several films from 1983 to 2014 and Television appearances such as Close Up Antakshari, Quile Ka Rahasya, Idea Jalsa, Junoon Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka and a lot more.
