Shobha Mohan, the graceful actress of Malayalam movies, has marked her presence in numerous films. Character role gets first preference to her. She was born to the well-known late actor Kottarakara Sreedharan Nair, who won two Kerala state film awards in 1969 & 1970. Sreedharan is still remembered till date for his role as Chempankunju in the National Award winning movie Chemmeen directed by Ramu Kariat. Malayalam actor Saikumar is her brother.

Kanakalatha is a very popular teleserial actress known for her character Narayani in a hit serial telecasted on Doordarshan in the late 80's.  She was born on 24 August 1960. She hails from Kollam, Kerala. She studied in St. Joseph’s Girls High School, Kollam. She began her acting career after her school education. She began her film journey in the 70’s in the movie Chillu directed by Lenin Rajendran. She associated herself with Kalidasa Kala Kendra and a few other drama troupes in Kollam to have a steady income. She went on acting in films along with theater plays. In the late 80’s she became the most sought after Tele serial actress in Doordarshan. Her first serial was Oru Poo Viriyunnu. She has acted in more than 400 serials till date in Malayalam and Tamil. Her Popular movies are Rajavinte Makan, Kattukuthira, Appu, Kireedam, Vakkalathu Narayanankutty, and Harikrishnans to name a few. Her tele serials like Amma, Harichandanam, Velankanni Mathavu, and Alavudeente Athbhutavilaku were all big hits. In the serial Amma, she played a character with a negative touch in the role of Mandakini. This serial lasted for three years (from 2011-2014).

Anju Aravind is an Indian actress hailing from Kannur, Kerala. She was married to a relative but they ended up in divorce after a few years. Later, she married Vinaya Chandran, a Malayali businessman and the couple has a daughter. After many years, she is active in movies again.

She is a trained dancer and was an active participant in all the stage shows during her peak time in the film industry. Dance is her passion and she still follows it by teaching students various dance lessons. She made a notable comeback by participating in a show called” celebrity kitchen magic” telecasted on Kairlai TV. She is also a very familiar face in the cookery show “Taste time” broadcasted in Asianet. She also appears on another popular show name “comedy stars” telecasted in Asianet. 

Rajinikanth is a popular Indian film actor and moreover a cultural icon. It is a privilege for any actor to act in his movies. 

Her debut was through the movie “Venal Kinavukal” released in 1991. She was active in the film industry from 1991-2001. After marriage she did not appear in movies frequently, but did movies with a gap of 3-4 years in between. After playing the role “Rema” in highway police in 2006, she again came to limelight through the movie “Sringaravelan” after 7 years. Her last movie was “Avatharam”. She is also a dubbing artist and has dubbed for Sandhya in the movie “Three kings”. 

Arunachalam is a Tamil drama starred by the superstar Rajanikanth and the late actress Soundarya in the year 1997. Anju Aravind played the sister character of Rajinikanth.The film was a commercial success but the success was not as big as Ranjanikanth’s previous blockbuster movies Muthu and Basha. 

“Comedy stars” is a very popular Malayalam comedy show telecasted in Asianet. The show features the very prominent judge panel consisting of popular film actors. In the new season of comedy stars, each team will have team manager and the personality will be a serial actress. Anju Aravind appears in comedy stars to support the team participating in the show.

Lavanya Nair is a Malayalam serial actress. She is known for her acting in  Avalude Katha (Her Story) on Surya TV and Avakshigal, also on Surya TV. Avakshigal was her first serial and she acted in it from its premiere in 2011 to its completion in 2013. Based on a play written by writer Vaikom Muhammed Basheer, the serial was a mega hit. It is about a familial dispute over property. At the time of its release, Avakshigal’s main audience was drawn by the presence of veteran Mollywood actors Madhu and Ambika. Lavanya played a positive role and her religiously faithful character was noted favourably by audiences.

After the end of Avakshigal, Lavanya acted in Avalude Katha (Her Story), which was also aired on Surya TV. Directed by KK Rajeev, the serial is a continuation of Oru Penninte Kadha (A Girl’s Tale). She co-stars with former Miss Kerala Indu Thampi. She has also appeared on Asianet TV’s popular reality dance show Sundari Neeyum Sundaran Njanum (Beautiful You and Beautiful Me). Lavanya is religious in real life and often offers pilgrimages to temples.

Sangeeta Mohan  is popular Indian Malayalam TV and movie actress. She started her acting career since her school days. She started off with an advertisement for Kilimark umbrellas, which was popular in those days. While she was in her 9th grade in school, she acted in a social awareness video on Epilepsy for C-DIT Kerala. That was the real breakthrough in her acting career. Early in her career, she has acted in many album songs like Karivalakal and devotional albums songs like Kanjanam and Chottanikkarayile Sivaranjini. 

Sangeetha Mohan was also a part of Vayalar Madhavan Kutty’s celebrated serial, Jwalayayi, which was produced by Megastar Mammootty and broadcasted in Doordarshan Malayalam in  2000-2002 over 500 episodes She acted in many serials since then in very powerful roles. Some of her serials are  Devi Mahatmyam on Asianet. Chakravakam on Surya TV etc. She is also a very active  participant in Kairali TV reality show for teleserial artists like Tharolsavam and Nakshatra Deepangal. She was a real star in those programmes, and she revealed her talent as a dancer in the show.

She has acted in supporting roles in movies like Jeevan Mashai in 2001, Sound of Boot in 2008 and Lisammayude Veedu in 2013.  

Sangeetha hails from the state capital and her parents were Kerala government employees. She lives with her parents, brother, sister in law and sister. Her father is an artist and mother is an amateur singer. Her family gives all kind of support in her career. Sangeetha is a literature graduate and likes to read a lot and spends her time with books.

Anoop Vijay is an Indian actor who works mainly in the Malayalam film industry. Anoop Vijay was born and grew up in Kerala, India. Anoop Vijay is known for “Chandroyam,” a Malayalam family serial that was telecasted on DD National, in 2023. Anoop Vijay played one of the supporting character roles in Chandroyam serial. Anoop Vijay also worked in “Angadipattu,” a Malayalam TV Series that was telecasted on DD Malayalam, in 2018. This serial was directed by Jithu Jayan, and Anoop Vijay played the supporting role in the series.

M. R. Gopakumar is an actor, who acts in Malayalam films and is mainly seen playing the roles of supporting characters. M. R. Gopakumar also works in Malayalam daily soap operas and has acted in over 50 films in Malayalam language. M. R. Gopakumar was also the first Indian actor to work with Hollywood’s ace director Steven Spielberg in his film A Lost World. Other than pursuing acting as a passion Gopakumar collaborated with the Postal-Accounts department of the Government of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram, India. 

Actor Jagannathan (1938-2012) was born in Changanassery, Kerala. He was a well-known Malayalam Cinema and Serial actor. He won his first Kerala State Award as the Second Best Actor for his theatre work Aaayiram Katham Akale. He won Kerala State’s Best Actor in the Supporting Role Award for his performance in Draupadi and School Days in 1999. He started his acting career as a theatre artist. He became a part of Kavalam Narayana Panicker’s theatre troupe Thiruvarangu. He is famous for portraying his character ‘aatapandaram,’in Kavalam’s theatre play Avanavan Katamba, along with Nedumudi Venu. He was a singer as well as an acclaimed ballet artist. Jagannathan knows to sing songs from 24 different states of India.

He began his cinema life in Oridathu in 1986, directed by the noted director Aravindan. He then went on to act in more than 179 movies, along with his theatrical roles. He has directed four dramas namely Pathanam, Parivarthanam, Vivahalochana and Karadi. He has acted in many tele serials, with Kairalivilasam Lodge (aired on Doordarshan) being his most applauded serial work. He is known for his characters in movies like Swathi Thirunal, Swagatham, Mazhavil Kavadi, Appu, Rajashilpi, Pattanathil Sundaran, Dasharatham to name a few. His voice, which was highly distinctive, would still be clearly remembered by Malayalam Cinema and Serial audience. Jagannathan even managed to run a dubbing school at Trivandrum, to train voice artists in his final years. He last acted in the movie Ardhanari (2012). He died on 8 December 2012 at the age of 74. He was married to Saraswathy Amma, and had two children Rohini and Chandrasekhar.

Irshad is an Indian actor in Malayalam films. He hails from Kecheri, Thrissur, Kerala. Irshad was so passionate about movies that he left his job to look for a role in Malayalam movies.His family and friends in Thrissur has been his encouragement, according to the actor.

Irshad showed his face on screen in PG Viswambaran’s movie Parvathi Parinayam in 1995, but had a real debut in the role of college union chairman in director Sibi Malayil's campus movie Pranayavarnangal in 1998. He acted in PT Kunju Muhammad’s Garshom, which was an offbeat movie, in 1999 and this led to Irshad being casted in the lead roles in many parallel cinemas. He acted in movies of many acclaimed, award winning directors like T V Chandran, Priyanandanan, Pavithran etc. His  important parallel movies are Neythukaran (2001), Danny (2002), Paadam Onnu Oru Vilapam (2003), Paradesi (2007), Bhoomi Malayalam (2009) etc. His role in Padam Onnu Oru Vilaapam as cruel husband of protagonist Shahina, a 15 year old Muslim girl, gained him a lot of popularity. He has also done noted roles in Priyanandana’s Pulijanmam (2006) and Dr. Biju’s Veettilekkulla Vazhi (2011) and P.K Radhakrishnan’s Mukham Moodikal (2013).

Irshad has also done many supporting characters in mainstream movies, now and then, since Narasiham in 2000. Offlate, he has shifted his focus from parallel movies to mainstream movies. He did the lead role of Maruthapuram Vishwan, alcoholic husband of protagonist Sumangala played by Kavya Madhavan, in director Priyanandana’s mainstream movie Bhakthajanangalude Shradhakku. His recent noted roles are as villain character Chakka Maniyan in Lal Jose’s  Pullipulikalum Aattinkuttiyum (2013), as  Sub Inspector in Drishyam and Issac in Memmories (2013). He has also acted in 6 movies in 2014. His roles were well received in hit movies like Sapthamasree Thaskara and Vikramadithyan. The second mainstream movie in which Irshad has done the lead role opposite Lakshmi Gopalaswami, Yathra Thudarunnu, is expected to hit the theaters by the end of 2014. 

Irshad has acted in many telefilms  like Veyil Thumbikal, Award winning Malayalam telefilm Directed by- Priyanandan. Irshad has done only few Malayalam serials. His character in serial Madhavam directed by Saji Sundaresan telecasted on Asianet during 2007-2008 gained attention. He is not very active in serial  in recent years since he is more concentrating on doing films.

Apart from films the actor is very much socially committed. He has contested and lost in a block Panchayath election in 2000. He is also part of many social movements in Trissur and other parts of Kerala, like the one demanding the ban of the use of endosulfan in the state. 

Irshad is the third son of his parents Abdu and Nafeesa Thrissur. His wife is  Ramseena and has a son, Arshiq.
