Usha Priyamwada is also known as Usha Priyamvada, Usha Nilsson, or Usha Saksena. She is an Indian short story writer and novelist mainly in Hindi and a translator from Hindi to English. Also, she is a professor of South Asian Studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA. She was born on December 24, 1930. Usha Priyamwada’s place of birth is Kanpur, British India. She took English Literature at the University of Allahabad and completed her undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate degrees from the same university. Later, she achieved a Fulbright scholarship for post-doctoral studies at the University of Indiana, Bloomington, in 1961. She was the youngest of three daughters of her mother, Priyamvada. Her mother suffered social prejudice for being a widow. She married Kim Nilsson, and later, she separated in 1977. In 1981, she remarried Per Nykrog, a professor at Harvard University. In 2014, her husband died. She has been living in Madison, Wisconsin, in the USA. Her alternate residence is in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, India, where she spends several months a year for her Hindi writings.

She also acted in the soap, Kehta Hai Dil on STAR Plus channel and later essayed the role of Kavita, the sister of Lahori (played by Sudhir Pandey) on Zee TV’s Amanat. Kavita also played the role of Taiji, a disciplinarian who create chaos that affects the younger generation of the Tripathi family in the television series, Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg on Colors. In 2010, the brilliant actress was roped in to play the role of Shanti, the sister of Cheddilal (played by Darshan Zariwala) who could help in reuniting Tej (played by Ravi Dubey) and Toasty (played by Aishwarya Sakhuja) in the comedy drama series, Saas Bina Sasural. She also played as Nurse Leela in the Hindi soap, ‘Astitva…Ek Prem Kahani’ on Zee TV. Kavita also bagged the role of Saroj Raani and Dadi Bua in the television series, Kuch To Log Kahenge on Sony entertainment Television India in 2011.  In the same year, she made an episodic in crime television series, Crime Patrol opposite Aayam Mehta on Sony TV. She portrayed the character of Dadi Bua, an orthodox who is completely precise on his customs and traditions in the television drama series, Ekk Nayi Pehchaan on Sony TV in 2013.

4. Mita Vashisht

Mita Vashisht is an Indian television, theatre and film actress known for her impeccable performance in different Hindi movies and television serials.

Vashisht was born in Pune, Maharashtra on 2 November, 1967, to Dutt Vashisht and Meenakshi Mehta Vashisht. Mita holds a post graduate in literature degree from Punjab University and also is a graduate from the National School of Drama.

She has appeared in several television serials like Space City Sigma, Bharat Ek Khoj, Mr Yogi, Pachpan Khabe Lal Deewaren, Swabhimaan, Kirdaar, Ghum, Saalgirah, Vijay Jyoti, Kaaun, Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki and Surveen Guggal.

Besides acting, Mita is an active social work who has worked for children in remand home and sex workers. She has also written and produced three short movies and a television serial.

She has appeared in various movies like Var Var Vari, Jazeere, Khayal Gatha, Drishti, Kasba, Tarpan, English August, Dil se,Zindagi Zindabad, Ghulam, Taal, Snegithiye, Maya, Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi, Pitaah, Patalghar, Oops-Superb role, Shevri, Rahasya, Youngistaan, Gangoobai, Trishna, Mujshe Fraandship Karoge, Antaheen and Aladin among others.

Similarly, she is also a main lead in the movie Manjeere and has sung with Subha Mudgal for the song Laaga Chunari Mein Daag.
