Kohinoor is a thriller television series based on the popular American novel, The Da Vinci Code. The serial aired on Sahara Television starring Kuljeet Randhawa in the lead role. It became a successful serial due to its stylized promotions and marketing and was acclaimed for its noble story and theme. Sahara channel launched a Diwali contest named "Kohinoor Ki Diwali Heeron Waali" from October 17 to 31, where it gave away 45 lacs worth of diamonds to almost 300 randomly selected participants.
This is the story of a girl Irawati Kohli (Kuljeet Randhawa) who lives in England and was running her own art house. She came to India and knew a little about that. Her motive for coming to India was searching new things. Her life turned out when she got charged for murder of her own grandfather. Then she met two guys ; Samar (Amit Sadh) and Karan (Ankur Nayyar). Then suddenly she came to know that Kohinoor (Most valued diamond) was missing and may be that was the reason for her grandfather’s death. Therefore she started investigation and reasons for death of her grandfather. The series was of 60 episodes only. Kuljeet Randhawa (1 January 1976) was an Indian actress and model.
The former Gladrags model was best known for her role in the Kohinoor series. She also acted in several television series including Hip Hip Hurray, C.A.T.S., and a lead role in STAR One's Special Squad. On 8 February 2006, Randhawa hanged herself in Mumbai.
