The ceremony looked to honor the professional excellence attained by members of the Hindi TV fraternity. Both the nominations along with the award selections got made by an esteemed panel which comprised of distinguished professionals who dedicated their life to the industry.
The Zee Gold Awards 2009 got presented to artists who displayed excellent performances in the serials which hit TV screens last year. The annual exercise recognizes the best performers, contributors and actors within the world of television. The evening saw the Hindi TV fraternity coming together in this act of celebration. These superstars also put up some riveting and dazzling performances which added to the glamor of the evening.
In attendance was Iqbal Khan, who put up a dance drama act. The historical saga showing the tale of two lovers enchanted everyone present. They started slow but picked up the pace to go towards faster numbers and heart thumping beats. The audience stood mesmerized and watched them with glee. Along with him was Rajshri Vaidya setting the stage afire with her usual energy and flawless performance.
She came on stage and started simple, but moved on to showing the immense talent which she possesses. It wasn’t just song and dance though but the comic capers of the anchors who left the audience members in splits. Their tantalizing energy kept the entire show alive and buzzing. The winners this year included lots of noted personalities.
Shabbir Ahluwalia took the title of Best Actor for the brilliant acting he showed in the fan favorite series titled Kayaamat, which got regularly aired on Star Plus.
Divyanka Tripathi, on the other hand, got the award for Best Actress. She got honored with the same for her role in the series titled Dulhannwhich got regularly aired on Zee TV. This was a testament to the talent she showed with 2009 being particularly good for her. Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai got the award for being the Best Show of the year.
Alok Nath took home the title of Best Supporting Actor in a Male Role. He got the same for his series titled Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai, which was a fan favorite and got aired regularly on Star Plus. AroonaI Rani took home the title of Best Supporting Actor in a Female Role for her power packed performance in the series titled Naagin, which got aired regularly on Zee TV.
