Plot

Sivakarthikeyan lives in a slum, where the people are under the control of Prakash Raj. As he didn’t like the people to live as slaves, he does something against Prakash, which irritates him. So, Siva searches a job and joins a company in the sales department. While Siva works hard, Fahadh Faasil teaches him not to work hard but smart. Siva starts working smartly and there comes a situation when he understands that his work has brought the society, big trouble. So, he decides to save the society from the upcoming danger. What does he plan? Did his idea work out?

Star Performance

Sivakarthikeyan has proved that he could perform in serious roles. Fahadh Faasil is a good entry to Tamil. He has performed neatly without any jerks. Nayantara has no role to do in this film. Why did she take up this template heroine role, after doing “ Aramm Click to look into! >> Read More... ” is the big question here! Rohini, Charle and Vijay Vasanth have performed well.

Analysis

After bringing a super hit film, Thani Oruvan Click to look into! >> Read More... , Mohan Raja’s perception of cinema has changed. The director has beautifully scripted a film and has set a good base for Siva to become an action hero from a comedy hero. Yet the screenplay is not that much strong. Dialogues are simply superb and get the claps from the viewers.

Sivakarthikeyan and Fahadh Faasil’s performance
A couple of songs are good
Punch dialogues are impressive
Cinematography by Ramji is appreciable

What’s Not There?

Raja could have concentrated in the screenplay along with the dialogues
Nayantara is used only for marketing the film

Verdict

Velaikkaran is a good social message oriented subject that is designed to impress all class audiences. If Siva maintains his quality without building up his image as a star hero after the success of this movie, then it will help him reach heights. Velaikkaran – good worker!
