Plot

The film opens at a restaurant where a beautiful girl who is also a lawyer is on a date with a man. After a bit of chit-chat, the man offers to drop her home. The next day a video goes viral of that girl, she was murdered by ‘The Common Man’ in a brutal way.  A team of special forces was assigned to Rangeela to catch the cruel killer. The common man is a white-collar worker and lives with his mother therefore it is difficult to identify him, also he is so intelligent that he has killed almost all the secret agents. Rangeela was introduced to Durga, who was trained as a special agent 12 years ago and is now undercover. Rangeela got on a mission to convince Durga to get on the mission. But it was difficult to convince her as she now has a family and is no longer the same old trained agent. The rest of the story revolves around how Rangeela persuades her to join the mission and how Durga tracks and clutches the common man.

Star Performance

Radhika Apte offers a fun-filled strong female lead in the film which is usually not expected from her film genres. Although the concept seems childish yet the story and performances make it believable. You will be surprised to see Sumit Vyas's character, a mysterious man behind all the mastermind plans. Conclusively everyone gave a solid performance in the movie, making it an overall hit.

Analysis

The storyline of Mrs. Undercover is a delightful comedy film that will surely tickle your funny bone. The film's challenging point is its witty, playful, and engaging screenplay that can keep you hooked from start to finish. Also, the depiction of Kolkata adds an authentic and immersive feel and emotion to the film, making it a must-watch for the fans of Kolkata. However, the placement of Mrs. Undercover is flawed with certain scenes, feeling rushed while others are drawn out plus, the end is a bit slow and boring when they catch the culprit, but despite all the flaws, the film is entertaining and engaging to watch, featuring a strong female protagonist and enough thrills to satisfy its viewers. Along with entertainment, the movie also conveys a special message on the importance and potential of a housewife.

Verdict

The movie teases you with comedy and intrigue while cutting to the bone with reality. It isn't enjoyable to see that the plot couldn’t manage to hold the humor and suspense and got distorted. Despite all the flaws in the movie, it is a perfect Sunday watch.
