Plot

Nazia is affectionate towards her mother and granny, and they are living in the Poonch district. Nazia’s father died at a young age at LOC. After her father’s death, Nazia is the caretaker of her family. During a casual talk. Nazia’s grandma expressed her longtime dream. She said that she had been yearning to see her sister, who is living in Pakistan. After hearing her wish, Nazia wants to fulfill it. She starts planning to make her grannies meet. It was the time of the Kargil war in 1999. Did they meet? The rest of the story deals with Nazia’s efforts.

Star Performance

Farida had always given beautiful performances. She had done a good job as a loving granny who wants to meet her sister. Her expressions are fantastic as usual. Hina Khan’s performance is good, and she has a lot to do only in the second half of the film. Rishi Bhutani is okayish in the given role.

Analysis

The effort to fulfill the wishes of the grannies is not new. Similarly, it is not new to make two people in India and Pakistan meet. A lot of films have come with these kinds of stories. However, the way of narration and performances make the difference. Farida and Hina had done a good job, and their chemistry is good too. The production design is good. The visuals are neat, and the BGM is decent.

What’s There?

  • The performances of the artists are good

What’s Not There?

  • The film is slow-paced
  • Some logical loopholes

Verdict

The film has a good story, performances and a lot of sentiments. It speaks a lot about India and Pakistan, the soldiers and the war, and the effect of separation of both the countries. If you like some soft love stories with heart-wrenching drama, then try it.
