Plot
The village of Dholpur is under attack. The local farmers are harassed by the scheming dacoits and the opportunist landlords. Some farmers including Gachchu resist the atrocities, but soon their homes, as well as their families come under attack. With no other option, the farmers decide to take the law into their own hands. Will they get justice before the law catches up with them?

The film’s editing is the only thing about this film that is worth remembering. For the rest, the less said the better.
Analysis
‘Daket of Dholpur’ is a revenge drama that focuses on the hinterlands of central India. The plot has its main focus on how the anti-social elements enjoy at the expense of the hardworking farmers, and how when nothing comes to their rescue, they are forced to take the path they once detested.
One thing to be noted, though. ‘Daket of Dholpur’ is in no way inspired by films like ‘

’, or the actual reign of bandits that once ruled the roost in Chambal Valley. In complete contrast to the films mentioned, ‘Daket of Dholpur’ almost resembles the Chambal Valley: barren and soulless.
The script on paper is fine, and the editing is also decent. The narrative however tells a different story. At times, you wonder if you are watching a feature film or a documentary. To tell you the truth, even the documentaries are more soulful than this film.
The acting performances are nothing out of the ordinary. Manoj Chaturvedi [who is also the film’s main writer and producer] tries too hard to appear as a brooding farmer, who is forced to take the law into his hands. The screenplay however fails to do justice to his character. The other actors are either overcompensating for their part or simply uninterested altogether.

Verdict
‘Daket of Dholpur’ is a vigilante drama that is extremely distant from the vision of the makers. Much of it has to do with the below-average direction, but even the acting performances are far from satisfactory. Some may find it okay for a one-time watch, but even that would be a bit too much.
