Plot
Parima is a teacher and is married to Vinay. She was brutally assaulted physically while she was returning from work. She filed a case, and her lawyer, Raavi, fights for justice alongside Parima. When this leaked out, Parima was made fun of by the people around her, including her students. Her husband’s family forced him to withdraw the case, as it defames their reputation. When Raavi addresses assaults against women, she was smeared with ink. Meanwhile, a Chhatri Man became popular when the system failed to find and punish the rapists.
Star Performance
Taapsee performs with finesse. She emotes various feelings well, including frustration and empathy. Kani Kusruti is excellent as the victim. Revathy is good in the role of a judge. Kumud Mishra and Zeeshan Ayyub are good in their respective roles.
Analysis
The story is thought-provoking. The makers’ idea is to make the next generation sensitive. Some of the plot twists are hard-hitting and shake the viewers to the core. The performances are the biggest assets to the film. If the stars hadn’t responded properly to their characters, the film wouldn’t have shaped up well. The visuals are decent, and the editing is sharp. The BGM gels well with the screenplay.
