. In order to entertain a group of rich people, these people are supposed to fight each other to death. If they refuse or lose, one of their kin will get killed. Will Zoe be able to succeed from this?
ANALYSIS: The audience is forced to watch a group of young woman fighting each other. The sets made for the women to fight were impressive. The fight scenes were bloody and gruesome. But they were a bit boring as well. The director could have used reliable stunt scenes. But he relied more on dim lighting and sharp cuts. The knuckle brawls looked to be gruesome. The cast and their characters are completely exploited by the story as well. The director has concentrated more on the violence. Everything goes dull when we reach the third or the fourth fight sequence.
STAR PERFORMANCES: Sherilyn Fenn looks too old and seemed to have lost her charm. Bell rules the movie with her strong physique and grim look. She looks like a real bruiser. Rebecca Marshal follows Bell. She is the second meanest inmate in the cell.
WHAT'S THERE? The climax was something different from the usual cliches. The way Sabrina plots to knock down the jailers looked so terrific. This movie looked more like a female version of gladiators. One can watch this movie for Bell's performance alone.
WHAT'S NOT THERE? The fight scenes are more brutal and violent. The fans who love discriminative action sequences should avoid the movie.
VERDICT: A sadistic type of entertainment.
